Some ideas and thoughts of mine, I am sure most of this have been discussed before so consider those things a brush up Razz.

IDEAS:
-Using Source? I was thinking that we could use the already free Source Engine to help out in all of this. Kind of start with a mod for HL2 or something, than move to full on new Source based game.

-PDAs. Like in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I think all survivors should have a PDA as a means of a menu and game features.

-Deeper RPG elements. Greater Agility means you reload your gun faster and bring the sights up more quickly. Greater Strength means you can carry more and recoil is reduced. Greater Stamina means you can hold your breath for longer when sniping and of course the longer you can run.

-Improvised Melee. Duct Tape a Fire Axe to your Shotgun, Rivet a blade to the bottom of your Rifle stock, and add Spikes at the bottom of your Pistol.

-Later Game Settlements (Though sounds like something that could be added in a patch later). Clans in the game can make small settlements in buildings or in the open. Every once and awhile they are attacked by a horde of undead. The settlement can have areas for sleep, traders, workshops, ect. The settlements can either be good and publicly accept people, or be the main base for a clan of raiders who pray on other players/NPCs.

-Zombies. I think the zombies should be sort of a mix of Fast and Slow. Sort of like the newer the zombie, the faster it usually is.

-Random Attacks. That being said, I believe that players in a group (2 or more) should be victim to random attacks. Someone on the radio can announce an incoming attack towards you, or maybe a motion detector, but when you hear about it you have about 3 minutes to barricade yourself in a building or make yourself a sandbag haven, when the 3 minutes are up you will be swarmed.

-Barricading. As mentioned before you should be able to move items in buildings or something to help block doors or board up windows. Buying items such as a Hammer and Nails or maybe a Wielder can also help in keeping doors shut ect ect.

-Sounds and Sights. The more sound you make, the easier to spot you are, the more zombies you will fight. Firing your gun will alert many zombies around you, as will setting fires and wearing camo that is completely opposite to your environment around you.

-Armsel Striker

-G36

Explosives:
-Pipe Bomb
-Molotov Cocktail
-Nail Bomb
yes we just showed the guns list we dont need more stuff for right now we know what were adding

Well I'm saying AT FIRST. Kind of put all of the stuff together into a Single Player Mod, once we work out some kinks we can move on to Online. Besides there are games like Zeno Clash who use the Source Engine and get paid, Zeno Clash is $20 on Steam.

so what ur saying that it will be like a demo?

difficult to use source engine though cous its a MMORPG although its FPS to but it will be kinda hard but i can see where ur going and i kinda like it Razz

Exactly! Sort of like a full on Single Player game that can show our capabilities and compile all we have for when we make it online, maybe even attract some new people into the game. Of course we don't have to use Source, there is always Quake 3 Engine and....Ummmm.....I would have said Unreal 2 but I do not think that is Public. I don't know it was a suggestion Razz.

no the unreal engine is for clients only so i suppose its gonna cost something.

You could use the Leadwerks engine by the Gamecreators. It costs about $1XX but is very powerful. The only problem is it isn't designed for MMOs, you're going to have to figure that part out for yourselves.

there is an engine that is designed specifically for MMOs but im trying to remember its name. anyway when i do find it i'll post it up here

It's called Realm Crafter, but its not all that powerful and has a bit of a learning curve.
