you can maybe enter a building secure it and then look around for things to reinforce it, the bigger they are the harder it is to reinforce (i.e. residencial house compared to a mall). if not then maybe the usual system most games use is just buying a house.
items you can use to reinforce: barbed wire cement block furnature sand bags (all you really need is a pillow case and duck tape to make a home-made version) sheet metal wood

if u have heard of exanimus they had the same idea there with safe houses but exanimus have gone out of produktion cous of some shity reason, but with a safe house there will be a lot of work if u are going to make it:P

Yes this was on are list of must place in game So yes also you'll be able to own the house if you want, so you have a storage/ place you can go back to.

i hav an a idea, how about u nid to hav nails ,woods and hammer for u to close the doors and big windows in the house or building's and after u do that, u must kill evry zombies inside the house or building, sounds good eh??
